My best friends

So I have a lot of really good friends. So I decided I'd blog about my 5 best friends.
This is me and Mallory at Cross Country Camp. Mallory and I are second cousins, and technically not blood-related, but more on that later. She's someone I can really talk to about anything. She's always been really supportive of me. We make fun of each other a lot, but she's one of my best friends.
This is me and Shannon. Shannon is one of the only people I've been able to call my best friend for my entire life. She lives pretty far away, but we keep in touch pretty well I'd say. We try to visit each other whenever we can, and it's never awkward. We can be weird around each other without worrying about what the other is thinking. She's awesome.
These are my sisters, Amanda and Hannah. This was before we went to go see Cyrano at the Utah Shakespearean Festival. I had a really good time with them, and they're always fun to be around. I get in fights with them a lot, but we always end up getting over it.
This is me and Alexa. This picture was taken after our Coach had told us that we shouldn't be doing PDA on the team, so me and Alexa did this, and Kelsey took a picture. Alexa is so much fun to be around, and we can (and do) eat everything around each other. I really trust her with my secrets because she's not the dramatic type, and I really like being friends with her.

The Four Chambers of my Heart

In Health, we recently learned about the Cardiovascular system. He taught us about the four chambers in our hearts and what each one does. Then he had us take out a sheet of paper and draw a big heart on it. We divided it into fours, and then wrote the "four chambers of our hearts". Or basically, the four most important things in our lives. So here are mine. (I couldn't get them to go in the order I wanted them to, so they're not in any order).

Chamber 1: Cross Country
This is a picture of me, Alexa, and Katie at Cross Country Camp this year at BYU. Cross Country is one of the biggest parts of my life. I have to admit, I really hated Cross Country at some points this year, and I nearly quit. I was literally planning my little speech that I was going to tell Coach. But I'm really glad I didn't. Cross Country makes a huge difference in my day.
Chamber 2: My friends
This picture was taken a really long time ago, but I decided it'd have to do. My friends are all a huge part of my life. I don't really know how I'd go through the day without them. A lot of them are on Cross Country, and they definitely help me get through everything.
Chamber 3: My family
This isn't my entire family, we're missing Andee and Dad, but this is most of us. My family is probably the biggest part of my life, and I love them a lot. They were my first chamber on my assignment, but like I said, I couldn't get that to work on here.

Chamber 4: Music
I didn't really know what picture to put for this, so I didn't put any. But anyone who knows me, (especially my mom) knows that I love listening to music. My mom gets really mad because I never hesitate to turn up the radio when I get into the car or change the station without asking. But I really love music. I'm constantly listening to it, and I can still somewhat play the flute (and still do if I get bored).

So those are my four chambers.

My new blog

A lot of people I know have been getting blogs, so I decided I would follow the trend. I know, I'm only 15, there's not much to blog about, but I really love writing. It's always been something I can do. I can write about anything.

So, here's my blog. I guess I'll write about why I titled it "My time to shine".

Part 1:
About a month ago, I started my Sophomore year at Shadow Ridge. I like most of my classes, and for some reason I like my Health class a lot. But most everyone who I talk to on a regular basis knows that I think my Health teacher is full of crap. Sometimes he says the most stupid things, it just gets me really annoyed, and I want to argue with him really bad. But--less often--he says some pretty smart things. He talks to us a lot about how our Sophomore year changes everything. Sophomore year doesn't seem like anything special, but the transition from Sophomore to Junior is big. He talks about how in four years we'll be able to vote for President, and in this year, we're beginning our lives as part of society. I think he has a good point. High School, especially Junior and Senior year, can be the beginning of your life. It's when you start to decide what you want to be when you "grow up". As of right now, I have no clue what I want to be, but I'll elaborate on that more later.

Part 2:
I'm the youngest of four kids. I have two older sisters, Amanda and Hannah, and an older brother, Trevor. Amanda just got her Masters Degree at BYU in Marriage and Family Therapy (I'm almost positive that's right), and lives here in Vegas with her husband, Andee. Trevor lives in Provo, Utah with his wife, Jamie, and daughter, Kendra, and is attending UVU. (Unless they changed the name again). Hannah just went up to Provo as well to start college at BYU.

I really look up to all my siblings, and I think they all set an awesome example for me in their own different way. Amanda is one of the strongest people I know. I really think Trevor is a great leader, and a big goofball. Hannah is a really, really hard worker. I admire all of them.

And so, I'm finally getting to my point. My Health teacher told us that this is "our time to shine". And even though I worry about it too much, I am really excited to start my adult life soon. I want to follow in all my siblings footsteps in some way. So that's me, and this is my time to shine.
